Roberta, 1935

Fred and Ginger are dancing I'll Be Hard To Handle, one of their most evocative dances, one of the most fun of all. Fred is in a nice contra position, with left foot forward and right side lead.

At right, they are facing, nothing touching.

Here, they dance Smoke Gets In Your Eyes. They are in Varsouvienne Position, left hands free.

One feature that we can always look for in Fred and Ginger's dancing is partner sympathy and connectedness. Here, they are both lunged forward with matching leg lines. Their arms and shoulders are parallel. Even their free hands extend at the same angle. They are dancing with complete awareness of each other.
