| Escort Position
Although Escort is an open position, notice that they are not marching straight down line of dance with little awareness of who is at their side. Their shoulders are turned in a little, toward each other. They are looking a bit inward. Their free arms have a nice symmetry. Normally, we ask the woman to be in charge of the embellishment of arm work and arm extension, so we can imagine that Ginger has chosen this gesture and that Fred is mirroring her. Each recognizes the other and acknowledges (and rejoices) that they are dancing with each other.
