This site is about social dancing and hiking in the mountains. Do they seem distantly related topics? Well, ballroom dancing is a gentle and sometimes thrilling interaction with your partner, and a hike through forests and mountains is a similar dance with Mother Nature.

Dancing —

Meredith and I are primarily interested in Round Dancing, which is choreographed and cued ballroom dancing. We have put together an extensive handbook: Round Dancing — A Figure & Styling Manual. Here, we analyze the steps and the figures that make up a dance and we discuss how particular moves can be comfortably executed.

Hiking —

I like to write about some of the trail and wilderness hiking that I have done. I suppose it helps me to relive the happy experience once again. This part of the site is in the form of a hiker's guide, so you can not only get a feel for what the trail is like, you can learn where it is, and how to get there.
